After nearly 70 years of dedicated volunteerism, a paid EMS division was created to meet the increasing demands for service. In collaboration with volunteer members, paid EMTs ensure that an ambulance is staffed 24 hours a day.
Long Branch First Aid & Safety Squad was founded in 1929 as a volunteer organization providing emergency medical services within the City of Long Branch. After nearly 70 years of dedicated volunteerism, a paid EMS division was created to meet the increasing demands for service. In collaboration with volunteer members, paid EMTs ensure that an ambulance is staffed 24 hours a day. In 2018 the squad answered approximately 3000 emergency medical calls making it one of the busiest EMS organizations in Monmouth County.
